As part of its mission to provide accessible healthcare solutions tailored for the tourism and adventure sectors, Parkdoctor of Tanzania is actively engaging with the Tanzania Tour Guides Association (TTGA). This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between frontline tourism professionals and quality medical support in remote and high-adventure environments.
During recent discussions, Dr. Omary Mvano, Managing Director of Parkdoctor, emphasized the importance of equipping tour guides — often the first responders during emergencies — with the knowledge, resources, and access to timely medical care. “Tour guides are the heartbeat of Tanzania’s tourism industry. Ensuring their health and safety, as well as that of their clients, is a national priority,” Dr. Mvano stated.
The initiative includes exploring partnerships for first-aid training, access to telemedicine services, and the development of mobile healthcare solutions tailored to the needs of those operating in parks, mountains, and other adventure destinations.
This engagement marks another step forward in Parkdoctor’s broader effort to integrate healthcare into the core of Tanzania’s tourism infrastructure, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a safe and prepared adventure destination.
